Eggnog is a super-rich and delicious holiday treat, but one scant cup of the traditional brew weighs in at around 345 calories and 21 grams of sugar! That one little cup also contains a whopping 19 grams of fat, which would not be a problem (if you can handle all the calories) if the meat and eggs were sourced from grass-fed animals. But if you bought it from your supermarket, chances are the ingredients are conventionally produced and thus contain a lot of unhealthy “extras” like bovine growth hormone and antibiotics concentrated in those fats, plus a lot of unnecessary artificial ingredients. It’s much healthier to make your own and the end result is far tastier than anything you’ll find in a carton.
