Best Popsicle Molds – Tovolo

Best Popsicle Molds – Tovolo

There are very few frozen popsicle-style treats that aren’t full of either sugars or artificial ingredients. The best option for cooling refreshment in the heat of summer is to make your own. All you really need to make a wide variety of clean fruit/nut-cream/chocolate treats is a few high quality ingredients and a good set of molds. The best  popsicle molds are Tovolo Groovy Ice Pop Molds. They are tough and will last forever. Their construction is smart – with holes in the sticks to help “grab” the pop, embedded in snap-on “dripless” lids. The pops have a sturdy stand that allows you to arrange them upside down in the freezer to safely freeze liquid contents. They are also completely BPA-free.

How to use it

Snap the pop holders upside down into the stand and fill them with your desired liquid, leaving about 1/2 inch of space at the top for expansion. Snap the stick-lids on tightly and freeze for about 4 hours. Once frozen, run each pop under warm water to get it to loosen and gently work the pop out of the holder. Serve immediately.

  • Leave the frozen pops inside their sealed containers until you're ready to eat them. They will stay fresher for longer that way.
  • Throw them into the dishwasher for easiest clean up.
  • Add a few crushed nuts to the bottom of each holder before adding your creamier mixes for a nut-tipped treat.
  • Try pureeing different fruits and adding them in layers for a "striped" look. Watermelon, pineapple and blueberries make a nice red, white and blue pop for Independence Day.
  • Each set holds about 2½ cups of liquid, total.

Where to find it

Find them at outlets like Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond, or order them online from Amazon.  They come in multiple fun colors and range from about $11- 13 in price for a set of six.
